In times like this it would be marvellous to be able to relax by the sea, but unfortunately Oxford is not too close to the coast. It is probably one of England's most landlocked cities. You could take a train down south to the beaches of Brighton or Oxford City Council could consider building an indoor beach, just like the Chinese mega-city of Chengdu. This indoor beach is all included in the largest building in the world (The New Century Global Centre) which has just recently opened. The New Century Global Centre as well as housing an entire seaside resort, has a 14-screen Imax cinema, an Olympic-sized ice rink, two five-star hotels and its own Mediterranean shopping village not forgetting lots and lots of offices. Surely Oxford could do with something similar to the New Century Global Centre...especially the indoor beach? Or maybe I should take a train to Brighton?
